Network camera, also called IPC, is a combination of traditional cameras and network technology produced by a new generation of cameras. Network cameras can be formed with routers, switches, NVR (Network Video Recorder) and other devices into a surveillance system.
The hardware composition of the network camera generally includes lenses, image sensors, sound sensors, signal processors, analog/digital converters, encoding chip, master control chip, network and control interfaces and other components. Light through the lens into the sensor, and then converted to digital signals by the built-in signal processor for pre-processing, the processed digital signals by the encoding compression chip for encoding and compression, and finally through the network interface sent to the network for transmission.
